I was pleased to learn that
"Occasional Prayer," published in
Fourth Genre (
12:1, Spring 2010), has been named a Notable Essay in
Best American Essays 2011. I'm happy to be in with such fine notables as Dinty W. Moore, Patrick Madden, Marcia Aldrich, Steven Church—whose essay "Auscultation" (from
The Pedestrian) was selected and reprinted in the collection—and many others.
